The Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, under the supervision of the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, announced the running of mobile clinics as a part of Elderly Health Care program in coordination with government and private health facilities, to provide medical care and conduct periodic and laboratory examinations for the elderly and those with chronic diseases, in order to ensure that their health status is followed up to maintain their health and safety.

The Department of Health, together with the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, launched, as a first stage, the “Health Care Program “Elderly Health Care program” for Senior Citizens and Residents and Those Suffering from Chronic Diseases”.

The aim is to ensure the continuation of treatment plans for the groups most at risk of complications from COVID-19 infection, including the elderly and those with chronic diseases, And maintaining the health and safety of society as a whole in light of the spread of the virus as a part of the Elderly Health Care program.
Through the Elderly Health Care program, the centre worked on contacting the groups most at risk of complications from infection with COVID-19, to inform them about the benefits of the program and how to use the telehealth platform, as well as following up on cases that need immediate attention and are transferred according to medical need as a part of the Elderly Health Care program.
In this regard, the Director of the Community Health Department at the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, Dr. Omniyat Al-Hajri, said: “We are looking, during the next phase of the program, in cooperation with a number of distinguished health service providers, to include all cases of senior citizens and residents, as well as those with chronic diseases, and to ensure that Obtaining the necessary awareness of the precautionary measures for COVID-19, identifying their needs for health care services, including mental health, and providing them in the way most appropriate to their needs, whether through phone calls, video calls, or home visits via mobile clinics, or coordinating necessary hospital visits for needs that are not covered. Other means ».
Al-Hajri added: “Our focus during the next phase is to ensure that the groups most at risk of complications from Covid-19 infection get the health care they need.”
The Abu Dhabi Department of Health recently called on residents of the emirate to communicate with it through the telehealth platform, which provides a set of virtual services to ensure the health and safety of all members of society, especially the elderly and those with chronic diseases through the Elderly Health Care program, including diagnostic services, virtual medical advice and obtaining prescriptions Medical services, renewing them when needed, and other medical services, taking into account that many patients do not have the ability to use any of the available technology methods, and the best way to reach them is by phone or visiting the home if necessary.
