Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, praised the progress that has been made in women’s empowerment in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
UAE Mother noted that the UAE has undergone major and rapid transformations in all areas, including the economy, society, and politics.
In particular, she highlighted the country’s commitment to women’s empowerment.
Which has been a priority for the UAE’s founding fathers, including the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Sheikha Fatima also pointed out that women in the UAE have achieved a unique and prominent position in all sectors of society and the government.
She said that the UAE is a model for other countries in terms of human development and global competitiveness.

Also the UAE took the 68th position over the world in the Global Competitiveness Index.

- Legislation: The UAE has passed a number of laws to protect women’s rights, including laws against domestic violence and sexual harassment.

In fact, the policy translates Sheikha Fatima’s vision of achieving fair and comprehensive participation for women in all areas.

The UAE National Policy for Women Empowerment main objectives:
-Building a strong, cohesive, and supportive family to enhance the role of women in society.
-Integrating women into the workforce and future sectors in a balanced way that takes into account their roles and needs.
-Developing women’s skills and enhancing their future skills.
The policy also includes two possible directions:
-Developing the legislative and regulatory environment that supports and enables the quality of life for women.
-Strengthening institutional work.
-In addition to partnerships at the national and international levels.
Principles of The UAE National Policy for Women Empowerment:
- Equality of opportunity for women in all spheres of life.
- Decision-making women’s right.
- Women’s freedom from violence and discrimination right.
- Quality education and healthcare right.
- Women’s right to work and earn a living.
In fact the policy is aligned with the UAE’s Vision 2071 and the Abu Dhabi 2030 Strategy.
It is also in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 on gender equality.
The policy was launched at a time when the UAE is undergoing rapid development and change.
Surely the policy will help in ensuring that women play a full and active role in this development, and that they are able to reach their full potential.
