HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, affirmed that International Women’s Day is an occasion to celebrate the contributions of women in the UAE and around the world.
He expressed his deep appreciation for women’s pivotal role and impactful contributions to the development, prosperity, and stability of societies.

In a post on his X (formerly Twitter) account, His Highness stated:
“International Women’s Day is an occasion to celebrate the contributions of women in the UAE and across the world.
We express our appreciation for their crucial role in driving societal development, prosperity, and strengthening stability.”
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, also paid tribute to women, emphasizing their essential role in life and society.
In a post on X, he said:
“On International Women’s Day, we celebrate women’s strength, sacrifices, and contributions to building societies and nations.
Women are the essence of life, its story, and its spirit… They are the educators of generations and the makers of heroes.”

UAE Joins the Global Celebration of International Women’s Day
The UAE actively participates in celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8 each year.
This is by highlighting women’s achievements across various fields and advocating for their rights and gender equality.
In 2025, this occasion comes amid rapid advancements in women’s rights and gender equality, with global calls for ensuring women’s active participation in all political, economic, and social spheres.
Under the theme “Accelerating Progress”, this year’s celebrations focus on:
