The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi “DCT Abu Dhabi” has invited residents and visitors to immerse themselves in its cultural events, activities, and workshops this Ramadan.

Through these events, it focuses on preserving Abu Dhabi’s cultural heritage.
While fostering creativity and community engagement, DCT Abu Dhabi has curated a diverse programme.
This programme showcases the emirate’s rich traditions, arts, literature, and culinary legacy.

Attendees will have the opportunity to experience Ramadan in meaningful and memorable ways.
This is by interactive storytelling, thought-provoking discussions, and hands-on workshops.

Harees Ramadan

Among the heritage-driven activities, Al Ain Oasis will host Harees Ramadan every Friday.
This event, revives the longstanding tradition of preparing and sharing Harees.

Harees is a staple Emirati dish, recognized by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage list in 2023.
Visitors will not only enjoy this dish but also gain insight into its cultural significance and preparation methods.

Bait Mohammed bin Khalifa: Before Suhoor Nights

Before Suhoor Nights at Bait Mohammed bin Khalifa will offer a blend of cultural entertainment and interactive experiences every weekend until 15th March.
The evenings will feature themed performances.

Those performances are celebrating Emirati, Syrian, Pakistani, and Iraqi music and dance.
Alongside traditional games such as chess and Carrom.

More Ramadani Cultural Events by DCT Abu Dhabi

At Al Jahili Fort, the Traditional Games Championships from 12th to 15th March will highlight Emirati heritage.
Through individual and group competitions, public challenges, and educational workshops, with prizes for the winners.

Ramadan at Al Dhafra Fort on 11th and 12th March will bring the community together for iftar gatherings, panel discussions, children’s activities, and a contest showcasing traditional Emirati attire.

Additionally, Ramadan Nights at Heritage Village, running from 14th to 21st March, will offer an immersive exploration of UAE heritage through interactive entertainment, workshops, and culinary experiences.

Community and Literary Events 

Ramadan at Al Hosn from 8th to 23rd March will take visitors on a nostalgic journey into Abu Dhabi’s past through Majalis Ramadan gatherings, retail stalls, workshops, and entertainment for all ages.

A special literary session at the Cultural Foundation on 8th March will mark the 30th anniversary of Salon Al Multaqa, featuring a discussion with renowned writers Nujoom Al-Ghanem and Asma Al-Mutawa.

On 15th March, The Prophetic Etiquette discussion at Zayed Central Library will explore values and manners derived from the Prophet’s biography, presented by author Dr. Ghosna Al-Amri in an exclusive session for women.

Another engaging panel discussion “The Language of Qur’an and Early Arab Beliefs” will take place at the Cultural Foundation on 20th March.
Scholars Dr. Nizar Qublan and Reem Al-Kamali will delve into the linguistic and philosophical aspects of the Qur’an.

DCT Abu Dhabi Interactive Experiences and Art Workshops

For a dynamic and engaging Ramadan experience, Ramadan Arcade at Manarat Al Saadiyat will return from 15th to 25th March.
The event blends arcade and board games with live performances, art installations, and creative workshops.

Poetry and storytelling is also in the programme, including Al Ain in the Memory of its People on 14th March at ZOI Café.
Where Mohammed Al-Neyadi, Al-Hath Al-Kuwaiti, and Sheikha Al-Jaberi will commemorate World Poetry Day through captivating readings.

While Ramadan Islamic Philosophy Talks at Louvre Abu Dhabi on 8th and 15th March will examine the influence of Islamic thought on global narratives.
These sessions will be introduced by traditional Hakawati storytelling performances, reviving the oral heritage of the Islamic world.

On 13th March, a literary session with author Dr. Omar Al Amiri will explore his journey as a writer and the role of reading in shaping his career as a novelist and short story author.

Creative Expression through Art

A series of artist-led workshops under Suhour wa Fanoon, will encourage participants to explore artistic expression.

Artist Khalid Al Banna will lead a monoprinting workshop at the Cultural Foundation by 13th March.
By the workshop, attendees can experiment with layering colours and textures to create unique prints.

While calligraphy artist Diaa Allam will conduct a session on abstract Arabic calligraphy on 18th March.
Through which the artist will guide participants in expressive lettering techniques.

And also artist Asma Belhamar will lead a workshop on abstract architectural drawing on 20th March.
Exploring the relationship between space and form through structured techniques and freehand expression.

With its rich blend of heritage, arts, literature, and community engagement, DCT Abu Dhabi Ramadan 2025 programme promises an enriching and memorable experience for all.
