Sultan 03 flight Carried Astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi at his homeland “the UAE”.
Sultan Al Neyadi, our brave Emirati astronaut returned to his homeland on Monday, September 18, 2023.
After he completed the longest space mission in Arab history, which lasted 6 months on board the International Space Station.
“Sultan 03 flight” holds the name of the hero and the number 03, the area code of the city of Al Ain, his birthplace.
Furthermore, Al Neyadi had traveled on his journey to space on March 2, 2023, as part of the crew of mission “SpaceX Crew-6”.
An official reception ceremony was held at Abu Dhabi Airport.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE welcomed the Emirati Astronaut.
As well as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him.
In fact, the meeting confirms that the wise leadership in the UAE is the first supporter of its youth.
Moreover, the UAE leadership stands behind every success achieved by the citizens and reached by the country.
Also, the name of the UAE is raised with pride in every forum.
Mentioning that the UAE flag accompanied Al Neyadi on his journey to the International Space Station.
And when he met His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, he handed over the UAE flag to him.
Al Neyadi’s achievements in space
During his journey to space, Al Neyadi conducted around 200 scientific research missions, including:
- Studying the effect of microgravity on the growth of human cells.
- Developing new technologies for monitoring the Earth.
- Conducting experiments to improve communication systems in space.
- He spent more than 4,400 hours in space and nearly 600 hours conducting scientific experiments.
Al Neyadi also participated in the “spacewalk” mission, so he was the first Arab astronaut.
