DP World establishes a strategic collaboration with Zhejiang Ports Group
Dubai World Ports Group “DP World” has announced a new partnership with China’s Zhejiang Ports Group.
According to this partnership, they will establish a comprehensive strategic collaboration.
In order to enhance logistics services for ports and maritime shipping between Jebel Ali Port and Ningbo Zhoushan Port.
This partnership will focus on attracting shipping companies to create additional maritime routes between the two ports.
It is also encouraging cooperation among shipping lines.
By sharing cargo platforms and dedicated spaces for transporting goods on ships along Dubai-Ningbo maritime route, communication and efficiency between these leading maritime centers will be enhanced.
DP World will also collaborate with the Chinese group to promote the development of sustainable and low-carbon ports.
The partnership aims to exchange information and expertise in the following:
- Building sustainable facilities
- Utilizing coastal energy systems
- Refueling ships operating on sustainable energy sources such as liquefied natural gas (LNG) and green methanol.
Abdullah Bin Damithan, CEO and Director General of DP World, emphasized that China is the UAE’s largest trading partner.
He expressed satisfaction with signing this agreement with Zhejiang Ports Group.
As it aligns with their vision to enhance their presence in China and collaborate with like-minded partners.
This will facilitate trade flow and accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.
DP World is committed to supporting China’s Belt and Road Initiative
This collaboration will contribute to the development of low-carbon facilities in ports.
It will also expand the adoption of new energy types and encourage ships to use clean fuels.
In addition, it creates a sustainable shipping corridor between Jebel Ali Port and Ningbo Zhoushan Port.

Daw Cheng Bo, Chairman of the Board of Zhejiang Ports Group and Ningbo Zhoushan Ports Group, highlighted the UAE’s importance as a key center for China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
He believes that the partnership with DP World will solidify China’s position as a major player in global trade.
It will also open up opportunities for Chinese companies to connect with operators across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa.
It’s worth noting that this agreement will explore investment opportunities in logistics available in the free zone of Jebel Ali and the free trade zone in Zhejiang.
As it supports automotive logistics services based on Dubai’s strategic advantages as a regional transit hub.
And also on China’s economic strengths as a major automobile exporter.
