For the first time in history, Zayed Charity Marathon will take place tomorrow, Saturday, in Miami, Florida.
The event will benefit the National Kidney Foundation of Florida.
The marathon’s promotional materials have adorned Miami’s streets.
While Regatta Park will host the 5km marathon, open to all participants.
The Story of Zayed Charity Marathon
Zayed Charity Marathon began at Abu Dhabi in 2001 and expanded to the United States in 2005.
Initially held in New York, the marathon has since been dedicated to funding kidney disease research and treatment.
In 2014, it was introduced to Egypt.
Where it supported hospitals treating various diseases across multiple governorates.
The marathon will begin with participants gathering at 6:30 AM.
Followed by the start at 7:30 AM.
After the marathon, an awards ceremony will honor the top finishers.
Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee of Zayed Charity Marathon, met with Miami Mayor Francis Suarez.
They discuss the marathon history and its contributions to combating kidney disease in the United States since 2005.
He noted that the UAE has received recognition from the US for the marathon significant impact on kidney disease research and treatment.
Joselyn Dumas participates in Zayed Charity Marathon
In a related meeting, Al Kaabi met with Barbara Valle, a board member of the National Kidney Foundation of Florida.
And also with Joselyn Dumas, the renowned actress and TV host.
Dumas announced her participation in the marathon.
Expressing her belief in its role in raising awareness about kidney disease, as she and her mother are affected by it.
Barbara Valle highlighted the foundation’s efforts in treating kidney disease patients and its involvement in scientific research.
She expressed gratitude for the UAE’s support and the continued efforts of the marathon in combating kidney disease.
