His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, Managing Director and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and President of the World Green Economy Organization, announced that the 10th edition of the World Green Economy Summit will take place on October 2-3, 2024.
And it will be at Dubai World Trade Centre under the theme “Empowering Global Efforts: Creating Opportunities and Driving Progress”.
This summit is organized by the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, DEWA, and the World Green Economy Organization.
It builds upon the results of previous editions and aims to enhance collaboration among stakeholders.
Forward-looking solutions
Moreover, it provides a global platform for exchanging knowledge, sharing expertise, fostering partnerships and discussing policies.
It is also a platform to explore forward-looking solutions in the fields of energy, economy, climate change, and green finance from around the world.
His Excellency Saeed Al Tayer emphasized the below:
“Since its inception in 2014, the World Green Economy Summit has supported global efforts to achieve a balance between economic development and environmental sustainability.
It also highlights the UAE’s leadership role in promoting global cooperation to address climate change.
As well as Dubai’s efforts in advancing comprehensive and sustainable development, transitioning toward a green economy.”
The 10th edition of World Green Economy Summit will focus on several key topics, including:
- Carbon removal
- Recent developments in clean energy (including green hydrogen and energy storage)
- Climate finance
- Circular economy
- Technology adoption for climate resilience
- The role of youth in climate action, along with issues related to food and water security.
