WFP in coordination with the UAE Expand Digital School’s Initiatives in sub-Saharan Africa.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on September 20, 2023.
In order to expand the Digital School’s initiatives in sub-Saharan Africa.
Moreover, the MoU was signed at the UAE’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York City.

The MoU aims to expand the reach of the Digital School’s activities and initiatives to rural communities.
And also to remote schools in sub-Saharan Africa.
The partnership will provide digital and hybrid high-quality education.
As well as digital technologies that are aligned with national standards.
This includes providing strategic advice in order to:
-Shaping national digital education strategies.
-Providing access to a global network of partners.
-Facilitating the development of digital educational content.
-Professional development programs for digital teachers in collaboration with Arizona State University.
Digital Schools Achievements in Africa.
In fact, the Digital School has already trained and qualified 1,500 teachers and enrolled 60,000 students in eight countries.
Including two African countries.
The MoU is a testament to the UAE’s commitment to education.
As well as its leading role in promoting knowledge and enrichment around the world.
In related news, the Digital School, WFP, and the Southern African Development Community (SADC) announced that they will host a high-level summit in Cape Town, South Africa, from November 27-29, 2023.
In fact, the summit will be a key milestone in developing a roadmap for digital education in South Africa.
As well as announcing a number of digital education projects.
The UAE-Africa Partnership Platform focus on education.
The summit aims to expand the network of partners, including the private sector and telecom companies.
Which heralds a new era of collaboration and innovation in digital education.
The UAE-Africa Partnership Platform places great importance on education.
Due to its role in providing opportunities for empowerment to communities.
As a supporter of expanding the Digital School’s activities.
The platform will enhance the efforts of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation in Africa.
These partnerships reflect the platform’s commitment to closing the educational gaps in sub-Saharan Africa.
