The UAE is working with partners to find an urgent political solution in Sudan
The UAE has affirmed its commitment to continuous work with international and regional partners to find an urgent political solution that preserves Sudan and assists our Sudanese brothers.
During a Security Council on the situation in Sudan, Ambassador Mohammed Abu Shihab, the UAE’s Permanent Representative to the UN, stated :
“Relying on falsehoods, misleading information, and propaganda disseminated by some Sudanese representatives under the guise of one of the conflicting factions aims to conceal the heinous acts committed on the ground by warring parties from the international community’s view.”
He added:
“These deceptive efforts will not deter the UAE from persistently collaborating with international and regional partners.
In order to find an urgent political solution that safeguards Sudan and supports the Sudanese people.”
World Health Organization (WHO) Thanks the UAE for Generous Support to Sudan
On another note, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the WHO, expressed gratitude to the UAE.
Due to its generous support to Sudan.
Mentioning that 70% of its $100 million allocations went to the UN and its humanitarian agencies in Sudan.
Dr. Tedros emphasized the need to work together to protect the most vulnerable populations.
He also stressed the need of continuous support for the urgent health needs of the Sudanese people.
In addition to and refugees in neighboring countries, with the backing of partners and donors.
Commitment to Addressing the Humanitarian Crisis
As a major contributor to humanitarian aid in Sudan and Africa, the UAE directed 70% of its announced commitment to UN agencies and humanitarian organizations.
This was during its participation in the International Humanitarian Conference on Sudan.

This support ensures a comprehensive approach to addressing the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.
Including food and health assistance, protection of women and children.
As well as livelihood support in emergency situations.
Besides addressing the humanitarian crisis, the UAE is surely committed to the urgent political solution in Sudan.
