Urgent Humanitarian Aid sent to Afghanistan by the UAE under the directives of the President of the State.
In response to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates.
The UAE has sent urgent humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
In order to help those affected by the earthquake that struck the western province of Herat.
Moreover, the earthquake has caused the killing and injuring thousands of people, most of them women and children.
Urgent Humanitarian Aid left the UAE airports to the fraternal Afghan people.
Today, a number of relief planes carrying large quantities of food, medicine, medical supplies.
As well as in-kind assistance were dispatched from the UAE to the fraternal Afghan people.
In order to meet the needs of those affected by the earthquake.
Mentioning that many relief organizations in the UAE participated in sending the urgent Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan.
Including, Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation.
As well as Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).
Those organizations will also help to provide all the necessary needs to support the victims of the earthquake in Afghanistan.
In addition, this will enable the UAE to assess their humanitarian needs as quickly as possible.
Also it will help in monitoring the living, health and psychological conditions until Afghanistan overcome this crisis.
Urgent relief shipment of food supplies, sent as part of a collaboration between the UAE’s humanitarian and charity organizations.
Sultan Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations Affairs, said:
“This urgent relief shipment of food supplies, sent as part of a collaboration between the UAE’s humanitarian and charity organizations.
Which is in line with our efforts to provide urgent supplies to other countries during times of crisis.
Especially natural disasters.
Such crises result in significant shortages of food and medical supplies.
And it require a rapid response to support affected people, especially women, children and the old.”
Al Shamsi stressed that the UAE was among the first responders in providing support to the people of Afghanistan.
This reflects the UAE’s firm commitment to providing support and urgent relief to countries and peoples of the world during times of crisis.
It is an approach that the UAE has continued to follow, since it was initiated by the UAE’s Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
And still continuous as per the directives from the UAE’s current leadership.
