Union Association For Human Rights (UAHR) Praises the Use of AI to Enhance Human Rights Performance
Union Association For Human Rights (UAHR) has commended the efforts of countries using artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to improve human rights performance.
Particularly the UAE’s experience, which is considered one of the best approaches in the region based on a humane approach to AI use.
UAHR Participated in the 55th High-Level Session of the UNHRC
This came during the general discussion on item 8 of the work of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).
By an oral statement issued by the UAHR, in cooperation with the Arab-European Forum for Dialogue and Human Rights.
The statement was delivered during the UAHR’s participation in the 55th High-Level Session of the UNHRC held in Geneva.
Dr. Fatima Al Kaabi, Union Association For Human Rights President, delivered the statement.
She emphasized that the Council needs to protect digital rights.
Especially personal data protection and preventing all forms of illegal use or exploitation of personal information.
She also called to address all violations resulting from the use of modern technologies and AI.

Dr. Al Kaabi appreciated the efforts of the UNHRC in following up and implementing Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action.
Stressing the importance of the Declaration’s contributions over the past three decades in achieving its main goals.
In addition to meeting the basic needs of present and future generations.
Which the Declaration emphasized the necessity of fulfilling within the framework of the right to development.
The UAHR President stressed the importance of continuing to strengthen international solidarity to follow up and implement the Declaration.
Pointing out that the results of monitoring and evaluating the work accomplished on the Declaration showed that the outcomes were below expectations.
She explained that one of the most significant challenges that limited the progress of the Declaration’s implementation was its inability to cope with future changes in the field of human rights.
As well as its stagnation in anticipating the required developments to interact and improve the human rights situation in the world.

About the Union Association For Human Rights
It is worth noting that the Union Association For Human Rights was established in January 2024.
Moreover, it is participating in the current session of the UNHRC meetings within the framework of the mechanisms available by the United Nations to enhance the participation of civil society and non-governmental organizations.
This participation aims to strengthen the UAHR’s position and its regional and international contributions.
It aims also to deepen the partnerships of the UAE civil society with various international bodies and mechanisms concerned with human rights.
