Unified Gulf Tourist Visa .. a New Achievement of the GCC.
Ministers of Interior of the GCC approved the unified GCC tourist visa project during their 40th meeting.
The meeting also witnessed the launch of the first phase of the traffic violations electronic linking between GCC countries.
Jasim Mohammed Al-Badoui, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, said:
“The unified Gulf tourist visa project is a new achievement, added to the blessed achievements of the GCC.
In light of the wise directives of Their Majesties and Highnesses the leaders of the GCC countries, may God protect them and preserve them.
Who have paid attention to the achievements of Gulf security cooperation.
Mentioning that the Unified Gulf tourist visa is expected to come into effect between 2024 and 2025.
The GCC aims at enhancing joint security work.
Moreover, this came during the 40th meeting of GCC interior ministers, which was in the Omani capital, Muscat yesterday, 8 – Nov.
Under the chairmanship of Hamoud bin Faisal Al-Busaidi, Minister of Interior of the Sultanate of Oman, chairman of the current session.
And also in the presence of interior ministers of GCC countries.
During the meeting, they have discussed a number of important security topics.
In order to enhance joint security work, most notably the implementation of the unified Gulf visa project according to a specific timetable.
As well as launching the electronic linking of traffic violations between GCC countries in its first phase.
And also guiding the preparations of a (comprehensive Gulf strategy to combat drugs), and a review of awareness-raising security campaigns.
A ceremony was also held on the sidelines of the meeting.
Which was to honor the winning research in the Late Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Security Research Prize for 2022 – 2023.
