UAE Welcomes Ceasefire in Gaza

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE Mission to the UN strongly support the resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan.
As they believe that it is a crucial step towards a permanent ceasefire to end the ongoing crisis.

The UAE also emphasized the importance of negotiations for a two-state solution which is leading to an independent Palestinian state.

UAE’s Continued Efforts

His Excellency Dr. Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, diplomatic adviser to His Highness the President of the State, said in a post on the “X” platform:

“The Security Council adopts the first resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during the month of Ramadan.
An important step to address the consequences of the humanitarian disaster, facilitate access to Gaza Strip.
And also to create an opportunity for a lasting cessation of war.”

He added: “The resolution embodies the role of the international community’s mechanisms in preserving and protecting the lives of innocent civilians.”

The US Did Not Use Veto

For the first time since the start of Gaza war…
The UN Security Council succeeded yesterday in issuing a resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire until the end of Ramadan.

The United States did not use veto this time.
By return Israel, which cancelled a delegation’s planned visit to Washington.

The US abstained, while the other 14 members voted in favor of the resolution proposed by the Council’s 10 elected members.

A number of countries topped by the UAE have welcomed the Security Council’s resolution.
The countries include: KSA, Jordan, United Kingdom, Turkey, Palestinian presidency, South Africa, Qatar in addition to the Arab League.

However, the UAE will continue working with all partners to support all the efforts in order to alleviate human suffering in Gaza.
