Abdullah bin Zayed leads UAE Delegation to the 79th Session of UN General Assembly
HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, leads the UAE delegation to the 79th session of the UN General Assembly.
This session will be held from September 24 to 30 in New York.
Under his leadership, the UAE delegation will engage with member states.
As well as UN officials and other partners in discussions on urgent global challenges.
These discussions include:
- The unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid
- Combating climate change
- Enhancing global health and well-being
- Preventing and resolving conflicts peacefully
Constructive Engagement with International Partners
On this occasion, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed emphasized the importance of multilateralism based on the UAE’s vision to create a better world for all.
He also reiterated the UAE’s commitment to constructive engagement with international partners.
In addition to its support for the efforts to find collective solutions for global challenges.
The UAE will also participate in the **Summit of the Future**, a key event convened by UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
The summit aims to revitalize multilateralism and enhance international cooperation to address issues such as:
- Conflict resolution
- Hunger
- Water scarcity
- Preventing climate emergencies
Along with tackling new challenges in the digital and outer space sectors.
Topics of the 79th UNGA Session
In addition, the UAE delegation will engage in high-level meetings addressing various topics, including:
- Humanitarian response in Gaza and Sudan
- Future of artificial intelligence
- Climate action
- Resilience to rising sea levels
Ambassador Mohammed Abushahab, the UAE’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, remarked that the 79th UN General Assembly and the Summit of the Future present a critical opportunity to strengthen international cooperation and collectively address current security, humanitarian, and environmental challenges.

The UAE delegation to the 79th session of the UN General Assembly includes notable officials:
Dr. Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE President and Abdulrahman Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention.
Reem Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation and Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and COP28 President.
As well as other prominent figures from various sectors, representing the UAE’s leadership in global affairs.
