About UAE University (UAEU) New AI Skills Initiative
The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), in collaboration with Microsoft, has launched a strategic initiative.
This initiative aims at empowering students with artificial intelligence (AI) skills.
Besides enhancing their technical capabilities.
The event was attended by His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Advisor to His Highness the President of the UAE and President of UAEU.
As well as other university leaders, faculty, staff, and students.
AI Will Contribute 14 % to UAE’s GDP by 2030
During his speech, His Excellency Zaki Nusseibeh emphasized that this initiative aligns with the university’s and the nation’s vision.
The vision includes fostering innovation and leadership in higher education.
He highlighted the transformative potential of AI.
Also, he noted that AI’s contribution to the UAE’s GDP is projected to reach 14% by 2030.
His Excellency added:
“Our partnership with Microsoft solidifies the university’s efforts in developing advanced educational programs.
Those programs promote a culture of AI within the academic community.
Mentioning that the initiative will help in preparing a national cadre capable of keeping pace with rapid technological changes.
Thereby strengthening the UAE’s position as a global center for innovation and technology.”

Efforts to Meet Job Market Requirements
Naim Yazbeck, General Manager of Microsoft in the UAE, stated:
“Through this initiative, we aim to enhance the skills of students, faculty, and researchers.
Aligning with the needs and future requirements of the job market.”
This announcement highlights a significant partnership between the UAE University (UAEU) and Microsoft to equip students with the necessary skills to thrive in the age of artificial intelligence.
