The United Arab Emirates announced that they will be extending UAE visas due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Residency visas and expatriate visitor visas that expired after the 1st of March 2020 will be extended until December 2020.
UAE Visas restrictions lifted amid Coronavirus outbreak
The UAE government held its 14th press briefing on Coronavirus. During the briefing, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (FAIC) issued a statement regarding the status of expired visas.
All residency visas and entry permits that expired after the 1st of March 2020, extended through until December 2020. Emirates ID cards that expired on the 1st of March are getting the same treatment and considered valid until the end of December 2020.
Brigadier Khamis Al-Kaabi of FAIC shared some words regarding the visa situation on Twitter: “We assure our clients of the necessity of completing their transactions through the smart services platform of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, and we committed to the highest levels of quality in providing these services.”
