The Ministry of Interior (MOI) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) have issued a joint statement urging everyone to stay inside their homes in the wake of the global Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Do not leave your home unless it is absolutely essential
The general public advised that the safest place for them and their loved ones is to remain isolated in their own homes.
Essential reasons to leave home include obtaining food, medical supplies and jobs for key workers.
Maintaining social distancing protocols will be a key element in reducing the spread of COVID-19 in the UAE.
Working from home whenever it is possible, avoiding contact with people who display Coronavirus symptoms, avoiding gatherings and public spaces. All of these measures should assist in reducing the spread of the virus.
People asked to travel in their own personal vehicles, no more than three people per vehicle.
Even family gatherings are not safe from the Coronavirus. It advised continuing practising safe social distancing during such events.

Shopping malls are closing for two weeks
The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MOHAP) in conjunction with NCEMA. They issued a statement declaring that all shopping malls and commercial centers will be closing down for the next two week period. A decision will be made whether to re-open them at the end of this period. In addition, Grocery stores, food outlets, pharmacies, and food markets will be excluded from the closure policy and allowed to remain open.
