As part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, The UAE signs a memorandum of understanding with Khan Yunis municipality
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has signed a memorandum of understanding with the municipality of Khan Yunis as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3.
The purpose of this memorandum is to repair water pipelines.
And also to conduct emergency maintenance on water networks in various areas of the city.
In order to alleviate the suffering of citizens and enable the municipality to provide infrastructure services based on its available capabilities through this project.
Within this project, the UAE is providing urgent humanitarian solutions to Khan Yunis.
Reactivation of water wells and reservoirs
Funding is allocated for the reactivation of water wells and reservoirs in the city.
As many of which have been significantly damaged.
Approximately 70% of the main water network has been affected.
Also, 25 wells were completely destroyed, with 12 others partially damaged.
This situation has exacerbated the water crisis in the city over the past months, making it difficult for displaced individuals to access clean water.
The UAE is actively involved in repairing water catchments in Khan Yunis.
Necessary materials are being supplied for extending external water networks.
Including the purchase of water barrels for central distribution points.
Improving the environmental situation
Additionally, fuel (diesel and gas) is provided for operational purposes.
Maintenance work on water catchments ensures that water reaches areas densely populated by displaced people.
Preventing health disasters and improving the environmental situation while serving the local population.

The project aims to relieve the burden on Khan Yunis municipality.
Because it has faced water network damage due to the invasion and destruction caused by recent events.
Despite the immense challenges, including an influx of approximately 900,000 displaced individuals, the UAE remains committed to providing humanitarian aid and water assistance to families across different areas of Gaza Strip through Operation Chivalrous Knight 3.
