UAE strengthens its position as a safe tourism destination
The UAE has succeeded in facing the global challenges of Corona and diversifying its economy sources, according to the UAE vision 2021 as well as the UAE Centennial 2071, as it launched 33 initiatives that the Ministry of Economy is working on in cooperation with various partners to support the various non-oil economy sectors, especially safe tourism destination.

UAE Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises
Abdullah bin Touq Al-Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and Small and Medium Enterprises in the Emirates, and Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for UAE Foreign Trade, discussed with Mohammed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, Ways of cooperation between the two sides to stimulate the national tourism sector and implement initiatives that support tourism development efforts and strengthen the country’s position as a safe and sustainable tourism destination.
The economic agenda of the UAE Vision 2021
Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri said during a virtual meeting: “safe tourism destination has always been a constant pillar in the economic agenda of the UAE Vision 2021 and the UAE Centennial 2071, as it provided support for the economic diversification policy and added important non-oil revenues to the gross domestic product and contributed to the development of the labour market. The gross domestic product of the UAE during the year 2019 is 11.9%.
He added that despite the unusual circumstances that the safe tourism destination experienced in the world, the UAE continued to work to strengthen and develop its tourism infrastructure, in addition to continuing efforts to develop a unified national strategy for the development of the sector, praising the pioneering role played by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi to develop the scene. Tourism at the local and federal levels, through new initiatives that have contributed to increasing tourism movement.
UAE plans to develop a safe tourism destination
Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi said that plans to develop a safe tourism destination in the UAE are continuing, and a flexible package and a general plan of 33 initiatives have been developed to support the economic sectors, as many of these initiatives target the advancement of the tourism system in the UAE through several paths.
He added that among the paths to support a safe tourism destination is to encourage domestic tourism, which constituted 17% of the total national tourism during the year 2019, and work is being done to raise this percentage during the coming stages, in addition to promoting the UAE in the foreign tourism markets and implementing packages to support investors in the tourism sector, as well as implementing High standards to boost tourists’ confidence.
