President of State and His Deputies Congratulate the President of Syria

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, sent a congratulatory telegram to His Excellency President Ahmed Al Sharaa, President of the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, on the occasion of assuming the presidency during the transitional period.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chief of the Presidential Court, also sent similar congratulatory telegrams to President Ahmed Al Sharaa.

Ahmed Al Sharaa As A President of Syria

Ahmed Al Sharaa led the coalition that ousted former President Bashar al-Assad.
He has been officially declared Syria’s president for a transitional period.
This appointment, announced on January 29, 2025, follows his role as the de facto leader since December 2024.

In his capacity as transitional president, al-Sharaa has suspended the existing constitution and is overseeing the establishment of a new governing framework.
His primary objectives include stabilizing the nation after years of conflict, initiating political reforms, and organizing democratic elections to form a permanent government.

Aiming to rebuild the nation, foster unity among its diverse communities, and lay the groundwork for a peaceful and democratic future.

In his inaugural address as Syria’s interim president, Ahmed Al Sharaa outlined a comprehensive plan for the nation’s future following the end of the Assad regime. He emphasized the formation of an inclusive transitional government representing Syria’s diverse population.
Aiming to rebuild state institutions until free and fair elections can be held.

Al-Sharaa announced the establishment of two key committees:

  • The 1st to select a smaller legislative body to function during the transitional period.
  • The 2nd to prepare for a national dialogue conference.

The national dialogue conference will serve as a platform for discussions and consultations.
Ensuring that diverse perspectives are considered in shaping Syria’s political future.

He also pledged to pursue individuals responsible for atrocities committed during the conflict.
Stating a commitment to justice for those who have suffered.

Ahmed Al Sharaa Urges All Syrians to to Engage in the Rebuilding Process.

Al-Sharaa underscored the importance of unity and collective participation.
He urged all Syrians, both domestic and abroad, to engage in the nation’s rebuilding process.

He also highlighted the need for a future based on freedom and dignity, without exclusion or marginalization.

In his speech, he reflected on Syria’s liberation from decades of oppressive rule, marking the end of a 54-year regime.
He expressed a vision for a unified Syria, free from the burdens of the past, and committed to achieving national unity and revival.

These initiatives represent a roadmap for Syria’s transition, focusing on inclusive governance, national dialogue, and justice, as the country embarks on a new chapter in its history.
