Sheikh Mohammed shared his sympathies regarding the situation in Italy. Hoping that the Italians will soon be able to overcome the virus.
UAE pledges global support during a pandemic
The United Arab Emirates have committed to offering support and assistance wherever possible during this difficult time. Italy, in particular, will benefit from this support as they struggle to contain the Coronavirus outbreak. A third of all deaths caused by the virus has been in Italy.
Pope Francis delivered praise to the UAE for its dedication to humanitarian aid and rapid response to the viral outbreak.
Pope Francis backs call for a worldwide ceasefire
Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) has called for a global ceasefire until the Coronavirus outbreak can be brought under control.
Pope Francis went on record to back the statement made by the UN. He went on to say “stop every form of bellicose hostility and to favour the creation of corridors for humanitarian help, diplomatic efforts and attention to those who find themselves in situations of great vulnerability”.
