Over 60 Dialogue Sessions
Abdulla Balalaa, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Energy and Sustainability, revealed details about the UAE national pavilion in COP29.
As per plans, the UAE pavilion will organize over 60 dialogue sessions.
It will also welcome a group of thought leaders during this two-week climate event.
Balalaa stated:
“COP29 marks a special moment in our collective climate journey, a year after achieving the historic UAE agreement.
The UAE agreement has set new standards for climate action and implementation methods.
It also established an action plan to uphold the 1.5°C goal.
This event comes three months before countries submit their nationally determined contributions, outlining their climate transition plans.”

He added: “The UAE remains firmly committed to diligent work and necessary cooperation to accelerate global energy transformation and uphold the 1.5°C target.
We look forward to support Azerbaijan as it brings the world together next week at COP29.
We also commend Baku leadership in advancing cooperation and collective efforts toward a more optimistic and resilient climate future.”
“The UAE pavilion at COP29 will be located in the Blue Zone.
It will bring together climate experts, government officials, private sector leaders, academics, and youth in over 60 side programs.
Those programs are covering crucial topics throughout the two-week event.
The pavilion will serve as a platform for idea exchange and collective solutions to urgent climate challenges”.

The UAE pavilion at COP29 will host interactive discussions through its diverse program, covering topics such as:
- Mobilizing climate finance for the Global South.
- Showcasing the UAE’s progress in renewable energy.
- Advancing decarbonization efforts in hard-to-abate sectors.
- Utilizing AI to transform food systems and address water scarcity.
- Progressing in global partnerships like the Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate (AIM for Climate).
- The Mangrove Initiative.
- Collaboration between the UAE and CIS.
- Youth empowerment to shape inclusive climate policies.
Other topics include planning for UN Water Conference 2026, which the UAE will co-host with Senegal, designing sustainable circular cities, and mobilizing financing to restore biodiversity.

UAE Pavilion at COP29: “Accelerating Action Together”
The UAE pavilion at COP29, titled “Accelerating Action Together,” will highlight the country’s climate journey.
It will also focus on the historic UAE agreement and the legacy of COP28.
In addition to the progress made by the UAE in biodiversity, climate finance, climate neutrality, and building resilience in food and water security.
As well as protecting people and livelihoods.
The UAE pavilion will be held in the Blue Zone at COP29 from November 12 to November 21, 2024.
