Victor Sektorov, coach of the UAE national judo team, confirmed their readiness to participate in Tbilisi Grand Slam Judo Championship in Georgia.
Which kicks off on Friday at the Olympic Sports Palace in Tbilisi, Georgia.
The team has already checked into the tournament hotel.
Mentioning that the event will see the participation of 83 countries.
Including 5 Arab countries: the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Tunisia, and Lebanon.
The UAE National Judo Team Program Continues till the End of 2024
The participation comes as part of the team’s preparation program, including the World Judo Championship.
Which will be in Abu Dhabi from May 18 to 24.
Followed by participation in the Olympic Games (Paris Olympics 2024).
The board of directors of the federation has provided all the requirements for the success of the first judo team.
As part of a program that will continue until the end of 2024.
This has created a kind of stability within the team, looking forward to achieving the desired results, in light of the technical development of each player.
Players
The participation in the Tbilisi Championship will be with four players, namely:
Karim Abdel Latif in the under 73 kg weight, Talal Shafeeli in the 81 kg weight, and Grigory Aram in the under 90 kg weight.
In addition to the player Batso Altan in the 57 kg weight.
The draw for the tournament will be at the afternoon of Thursday at the Holiday Inn Tbilisi Hotel via (video technology).
In preparation for the start of the tournament competitions on Friday morning.
