UAE National Football Team to Face Yemen in Crucial World Cup Qualifier

The UAE national football team will face its Yemeni counterpart tomorrow, Tuesday.
This will be at Prince Saud bin Jalawi Stadium in the city of Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia.

The match is part of the fourth round of Group B in the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup.

The first leg match took place last Thursday at Al Nahyan Stadium at Al Wahda Club in Abu Dhabi.
And it saw the UAE national team win 2-1.

Full 9 Points Surpassing Bahrain, Yemen and Nepal

The UAE national team delegation arrived in Al Khobar on Monday morning in preparation for the match.

The UAE national team tops the Group B standings with a full 9 points.
Followed by Bahrain with 6 points, Yemen with 3 points, and Nepal with no points.

Winning tomorrow’s match will secure the UAE’s place in the third round of the joint qualifiers.

The UAE national team’s Portuguese coach, Paulo Bento, is counting on the team’s young players during the match.
Who he introduced during last Thursday’s match and witnessed the brilliance of many of them.
Most notably Sultan Adel, the UAE national team player, after he scored the winning goal with a header.

Training to Win

The national team resumed training last Friday at New York University Abu Dhabi’s campus on Saadiyat Island.
Where coach Paulo Bento initially focused on correcting the mistakes made in Thursday’s match.
Especially the defensive mistakes, the most notable of which was the own goal scored by Abdullah Idris, the UAE national team player, into the goal of goalkeeper Khalid Eisa.

The coach also focused on the strengths and weaknesses of the Yemeni national team in order to address them during tomorrow’s match.

The UAE national team will hold its main training session today, Monday, at the match stadium.
Coach Bento is expected to finalize the starting lineup for the match, focusing on the players who showed the most readiness during training.
