The UAE ranked sixth globally in the market of aircraft orders based on the number of orders for private aircraft by commercial airlines.
According to a report issued by the aviation and air transport consultancy firm “ch-aviation” the national carriers aircraft orders quantity reached 556 aircraft.
Noting that aircraft orders includes the following:
-200 aircraft for Emirates Airlines.
-99 aircraft for Etihad Airways.
-137 aircraft for Flydubai.
-120 aircraft for Air Arabia.
According to the report, the USA ranked first globally with more than 3,100 aircraft orders.
Followed by Ireland with 1,247 aircraft and China is in third place with 1,239 aircraft.
India ranked fourth with 888 aircraft, followed by the Russian Federation with 603 aircraft.
While the UAE ranked sixth with 556 aircraft.
With reference to aircraft orders in Asia, the UAE ranked third after China and India and the list did not include orders from aircraft leasing companies.
At the continental level:
Obviously Asia accounted for the largest share of orders at around 5,500 aircraft.
Followed by North America with around 3,500 aircraft.
Europe in third place with around 3,300 aircraft.
While South America recorded 422 aircraft.
On the other side Airbus, the European company, topped the list in terms of the number of orders, with 6.6 thousand aircraft.
Followed by the American company, Boeing, with around 5.5 thousand aircraft.
While the Chinese company, Comac, in third place with around 870 aircraft.
The Boeing 737 topped the list of the most ordered aircraft with around 2,500 aircraft.
Followed by the Airbus A320 with around 2,200 aircraft, and the Airbus A321 with around 1,700 aircraft.
According to the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), the UAE investments in the civil aviation sector exceed One Trillion Dirhams.
While the investments in the development and expansion of airports reached approximately 85 Billion Dirhams.
Since the investments in airports will increase the capacity to over 300 million passengers annually.
Mentioning that the aviation sector in the UAE contributes to about 14% of the gross domestic product.
The GCAA said that the civil aviation sector in the UAE has succeeded in recovering the pre-Covid levels of passenger traffic.
Moreover, it is expected that the air traffic in the UAE’s airports will continue to grow during the current year.
Also, the number of destinations served by national carriers is around 536 destinations, including joint destinations.
To be clear, the UAE’s status as a global destination for tourism and business is supported by the travel demand recovery.
Besides the fact that travel demand recovery gives strong support for the continuous achievements and growth of the UAE’s airports and national carriers.
