The UAE healthcare sector extended its capacity to host Palestinians coming from Gaza.
These efforts came as per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to treat injured Palestinians in the UAE.
And also to build field hospitals and send all necessary needs to Gaza by air, sea and land.
Treatment by the UAE Healthcare Sector:
- Hosting 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza Strip across all age groups for treatment by the UAE Healthcare sector.
- Hosting another 1,000 Palestinian children with their families from Gaza Strip.
This is by providing them with all types of medical and healthcare they need in UAE hospitals until they recover and return home. - Welcoming 16 groups of injured Palestinian children and cancer patients by April 27th.
- Providing comprehensive services and exceptional care for Gaza residents in the UAE in case they are in the country for treatment or accompanying sick relatives at the “Emirates Humanitarian City”.
Presence on the Ground:
- Establishing a fully-equipped field hospital in Gaza with a capacity of 200 beds.
It includes operating rooms, intensive care units, specialized clinics, X-ray and CT scan services, a pharmacy, and a laboratory. - Performing over 1,517 major and complex surgeries, and treating more than 18,000 cases.
- Fitting 61 prosthetics for those who lost limbs during the Gaza conflicts.
- Deploying a fully-equipped floating hospital off the coast of the Egyptian city of El Arish.
This hospital has a capacity of 100 beds and is also equipped with operating rooms, intensive care units, radiology and laboratory sections, a pharmacy and medical storage facilities, an evacuation plane, a medical evacuation boat, and ambulances equipped with the latest medical devices.
Emergency Medical Aid:
- Delivering more than 31,000 tons of medical and healthcare supplies.
This was through 250 airlifts, 40 airdrops, 1,160 trucks, and three ships. - Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives Foundation pledging around 37 million dirhams (US$10 million).
In order to support the health sector in Gaza by providing essential medical supplies to the population.
Especially children, amidst the difficult circumstances the area is facing. - Sending fully-equipped ambulances to the Gaza Strip.

The UAE’s efforts to support the health sector in Gaza have been met with great appreciation and praise from the people of Gaza.

Mentioning that these efforts have contributed to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinians in Gaza.
