UAE Football Association new medical aid to Asian federations

The UAE Football Association (UAEFA) yesterday launched the second phase of an initiative to provide aid to the Asian football federations, which includes medical equipment and supplies for examination for accurate detection of the coronavirus, within the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the armed forces on the importance of strengthening solidarity and humanitarian cooperation in facing the COVID-19 pandemic.

Salem Ali Al Shamsi, Board Member and Chairman of the International Relations Committee, said that the second phase of the UAE Football Association humanitarian initiative included six Asian football federations:

  1. Iraq
  2. Syria
  3. Yemen
  4. Vietnam
  5. Philippines
  6. Guam

The aid was actually transferred in coordination with the competent authorities in the state.

Salem Ali Al Shamsi indicated that the UAE Football Association Board of Directors headed by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi continues to provide assistance to the federations affected by the Corona pandemic, and to extend a helping hand to them, and it is expected that there will also be other stages of the UAE Football Association humanitarian initiative that comes an embodiment of the vision of the wise leadership in supporting humanitarian work and strengthening the spirit of solidarity, cooperation and brotherhood among the various countries and peoples of the whole world.

It is worth noting that the first phase of the UAE Football Association humanitarian initiative was launched last September and included providing aid to six federations:

  1. Tajikistan
  2. Turkmenistan
  3. Kyrgyzstan
  4. The Northern Marina Islands
  5. The Maldives
  6. Uzbekistan

This step comes as an embodiment of the humanitarian approach instilled by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and in line with the great assistance the United Arab Emirates provides to countries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic around the world.
