Opening of the UAE Field Hospital in Abéché, Chad
His Excellency Sheikh Shakhbout bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State, inaugurated the fully-equipped “UAE Field Hospital” in Abéché, Chad.
The hospital aims to provide medical treatment and care to Sudanese refugees in Chad.

- 22 doctors.
- 92 nurses.
- 12 medical support staff.
- 41 non-medical support staff.
- Operated by: Burjeel Hospital Abu Dhabi.
Goals:
- Providing ongoing humanitarian and relief aid to Sudanese refugees.
- Alleviating the living burdens imposed on them by war.
- Meeting their medical, humanitarian, and relief needs.
- Supporting the efforts of the Republic of Chad in responding to the humanitarian crisis and alleviating the effects of the influx of large numbers of Sudanese refugees into its territory.

UAE Aid to the Republic of Chad:
- The UAE has provided aid to the friendly Republic of Chad for the past five years, totaling approximately 467 million USD.
- Of this amount, around 100 million USD is dedicated to supporting the refugees they have received and provided aid to.
