30 Nations Compete in Inaugural Golf Event
“UAE Cup for golf 1st edition” kicked off yesterday, organized by the Emirates Golf Federation.
The championship has been held under the name of the President’s Cup.
The new tournament will bring together Emirati golfers and the top amateur golfers from golf federations in Asia, the Pacific, Europe, and the Arab world.
The event will be hosted by Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club from October 25 to 27, 2024.
Opening Ceremony
The UAE Cup opening ceremony was with a simple program that included the UAE national anthem.
Followed by a speech by Major General (Ret.) Abdullah Al Hashemi, Vice President of the Emirates Golf Federation.
In addition to a video presentation about this major event, which brings together the leaders and stars of the sport.
3 Competitions in UAE Cup
The event features three different tournaments, with more than 200 players from over 50 federations worldwide:
- Elite Category
- National Category
- Rising Falcons Championship
The first Elite Category participants will include top amateur players from:
Asia, the Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
Who Are the Emirati Figures Participating in the UAE Cup Elite Category ?
Leading figures in UAE golf will also participate, including:
- His Excellency Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, President of the Federation
- Vice President Major General (Ret.) Abdullah Al Hashemi
- Khaled Al Shamsi
- Walid Al Attar
- Akram Skaik
The winners will receive invitations to participate in a men’s player challenge and the European Ladies Tour.
National and Falcons Categories
The monthly National Championship, dedicated to Emirati players, will also take place with the participation of more than 50 players.
The competition will begin tomorrow, Saturday, and conclude on Sunday, with the best Emirati golfer being crowned.
Additionally, the “Rising Falcons” par 3 and skills challenge championship will be held from October 26 to 27.
Participants in this championship will include more than 60 children from various levels.

Celebrating Golf by UAE Cup
In this regard, Major General (Ret.) Abdullah Al Hashemi, Vice President of the Emirates Golf Federation, said:

By organizing the National UAE Championship alongside the Elite Category continuously.
Our goal is to celebrate golf in the UAE within the local community.
And also with our international partners.
