The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has made the executive decision to suspend all fines for holders of residency visas until the end of the year. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the UAE government has requested people limit their movements to essential activities only, such as purchasing food or medical supplies.
No fines for visa holders
Due to disruptions caused by the Coronavirus pandemic many people are put into situations that they would not normally be in. With flights grounded across the entire UAE and travel limited for essential purposes only, it’s increasingly difficult for people to keep up with their lives.
In order to reduce the strain caused by the viral outbreak. The UAE ordered that all residency visas expiring in March would be exempt from fees. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum has now announced that they are extending this exemption period until the end of 2020.
The kindness of the Sheikh will save many people from financial penalties that would otherwise be outside of their control.
New precautions are in effect
The UAE is taking the Coronavirus head-on. As the number of infected worldwide rises well past the one million mark, the UAE is still the safest place to be.

A new disinfection initiative has gone into action in Abu Dhabi. Between the hours of 8 pm and 6 am the streets will be thoroughly sterilized. People are to remain inside their homes during this time. The sterilization program will last for two weeks.

The Dubai Police force has long been one of the most advanced in the world. Now they are taking advantage of advanced AI systems. In order to track whether people are making essential trips outside during the quarantine. Vehicle registrations tracked and checked against databases that identify whether or not the driver is an essential worker.
Movement permits required to go outside, even for essential purposes, over the next 2 weeks. The AI system updated to reflect the current situation and can accurately detect whether someone is making an essential trip.
