Cuban Prime Minister Confirms UAE and Cuba Collaboration in Multiple Sectors
His Excellency Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, affirmed his country’s collaboration with the UAE in a range of sectors.
He noted that relations have accelerated since the visit of H.E Miguel Díaz-Canel President of Cuba to the UAE in November last year.
On the sidelines of the World Government Summit, H.E Manuel Marrero Cruz said:
“The UAE has extensive experience, and we have signed several agreements with them in various fields.
Cuba benefits from the UAE’s support in developing various renewable energy projects.
Which helps Cuba implement its energy transition strategy.”
Regarding cooperation in the agricultural sector:
His Excellency explained that his country and the UAE intend to work together to finance and implement joint food projects.
On national policies in Cuba:
He pointed out that his country has worked to support gender balance.
Now, women are actively participating in many economic and social sectors, highlighting their pivotal role in participation.
When it comes to climate Change, Cuba government predicts climate impacts for 2050 and 2100.
His Excellency Manuel Marrero Cruz said:
“Cuba has launched a project called ‘Life History’.
Where we have identified all the climate impacts in our country for 2050 and 2100.
Such as areas that will be affected by floods, and developed action plans to relocate people to safer areas and mitigate risks.”
The Cuban Prime Minister praised the role of the World Government Summit.
As well as the UAE’s keenness to organize such events.
He is considering WGS 2024 as a great opportunity to exchange experiences between different countries in the world.
As it is discussing important and sensitive issues.
Such as governance at the government level, and internet issues related to artificial intelligence.
