Gulf Cricket Championship in Dubai Until December 21,2024
The UAE cricket team started their campaign in the second Gulf Cricket Championship, hosted by Dubai until the 21st of this month, with an important victory over Bahrain.
The Emirati team has achieved this victory by eight wickets.
Accordingly it enhanced its chances of competing for the title in the second edition of the tournament.
Last year, Qatar has welcomed the first Gulf Cricket Championship which ended with winning of the Omani team.
The opening day also saw Kuwait defeat Saudi Arabia by six wickets.
What are the participating teams ?
The Gulf Cricket Championship kicked off at Dubai International Cricket Council Academy grounds, featuring six Gulf teams including:
- The UAE
- Saudi Arabia
- Oman
- Bahrain
- Kuwait
- Qatar
Mentioning that it is held under the supervision of the Emirates Cricket Board and the International Cricket Council.
Two matches are scheduled for today: the UAE will face defending champions Oman.
While Saudi Arabia will play against Qatar.
The current edition includes 16 matches over nine days, including the final match.
the UAE Started with a Huge Victory Over Bahrain
Zayed Abbas, a member of the Emirates Cricket Board and the official spokesperson for the board, expressed his happiness with the successful start of the UAE team against Bahrain and the excellent organization of the event.
He noted that the UAE’s experience has contributed to the organizational success.
As the country has successfully organized numerous international, continental, and global tournaments over the past ten years.

He also attributed the UAE’s opening victory over Bahrain to the experience and excellence of the UAE champions.
Expressing hope that the team would continue its successful journey in the tournament to win the second edition’s title.
