“The UAE and the USA are capable of holding talks and coordinating.”
The UAE Ambassador to the US, Yousef Al-Otaiba, said on Wednesday that Washington’s current approach toward the Gaza Strip is “difficult”.
He added: “But at the end of the day, we are all seeking a solution, though we don’t know where it will lead.”
Al-Otaiba’s remarks came in response to the plan announced by U.S. President Donald Trump.
Trump plan proposes that the U.S. take control of Gaza Strip and develop it into a “real estate project”.
While relocating its residents to Egypt and Jordan.
The Emirati ambassador, during a panel discussion at the World Government Summit in Dubai, responded to a question about whether common ground could be found with the current U.S. administration regarding Gaza:
“We will try.
I think the current approach will be difficult.
But ultimately, we are all seeking solutions, though we don’t know where it will lead.”
He added that his country and the United States “are capable of holding talks and coordinating even if they disagree on a particular issue.”

“Diplomacy is the art of trying to find common ground.”
Al-Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the US stated:
“Like any relationship, sometimes our friends listen to us, and sometimes they don’t.
Sometimes we agree on certain positions, and sometimes we disagree.
We have always sought to find common ground.
Just because we don’t like something doesn’t mean we stop talking to each other.
Diplomacy is the art of trying to find common ground and reaching a compromise.”

UAE Ambassador to the US: “the UAE does not depend on a specific policy or president.”
He emphasized that his country’s strategy “does not depend on a specific policy or president.
It is a comprehensive strategy aimed at conveying the UAE’s message, values, and priorities to the American public.
We do this neutrally, regardless of who is in the White House, so our message remains consistent.”
When asked whether the White House listens to the UAE, he replied:
“I think on certain messages, yes, they listen to us.
On business and investments, they listen to us when we provide advice on regional issues.
Sometimes they listen to us, but we are not shy. We make our voices heard, and we are very straightforward and unapologetic about it.”
