The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health launched today the second phase of the campaign “Towards a Healthy and Safe Society” which will focus on “educating senior citizens and residents” in various regions of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as part of efforts to raise the health level of the emirate’s population and reduce From the spread of the emerging coronavirus “COVID-19”.
The campaign comes in cooperation with the Councils Affairs Office at the Court of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, the Office of the Martyrs’ Families Affairs, the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company / Health /, the Ministry of Education, the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, the Department of Community Development, the Community Contribution Authority – Together, and the Family Development Foundation, And Abu Dhabi Media, embodying the principle of partnership and social responsibility enjoyed by various state institutions.
His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Hamid, Head of the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi, said: “Our rational leadership has always placed the health and safety of the senior citizen’s category a permanent priority. The aims of “Towards a Healthy and Safe Society” Initiative
In its second phase, the campaign aims to focus more on the category of senior citizens and residents, as they are the group most vulnerable to complications related to the “COVID-19” disease, in addition to focusing on population groups that live outside the main cities of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, especially remote areas that do not reach messages Health education through traditional means, as part of its educational and procedural activities, and the coordination of COVID-19 examinations needed for senior citizens, in a number of centers designated for that.
The campaign uses to communicate its educational messages that aim to raise the level of health awareness and strengthen preventive and remedial measures related to addressing the Corona pandemic, many media outlets such as TV channels, radio channels, newspapers, social media and phone messages such as direct text messages “SMS”, voice messages and WhatsApp application messages, In addition to the displays on “ADNOC” stations, with a focus on the means by which the targeted groups are located, which the center will define through a general questionnaire prepared in cooperation with a group of strategic partners.
The campaign also includes many field activities such as home visits by a group of field medical teams and health awareness messages that public health ambassadors and volunteers will spread in the community, and whose content aims to educate and educate senior citizens about preventive measures related to the “COVID 19” virus.
The second stage of the campaign will continue for a period of 3 months
It can be extended or modified according to the needs and the results of the targeted response, starting from the current month of June until the month of August, after which a questionnaire will be conducted through various appropriate means, to know the extent of increasing health awareness in the community and the number of participants in awareness activities And health education during the campaign and the number of materials that were published, along with knowledge of the percentage of community members’ satisfaction with the campaign and the percentage of general achievement that was achieved.
This phase of the campaign “Towards a Healthy and Safe Society” comes in support of the efforts made by the Health Department Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Center for Public Health to raise awareness and health education among the residents of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and reduce the spread of the new Coronavirus “COVID-19”, in order to reach a community Sound and healthy and achieving advanced levels in the fight against the pandemic and the return of the emirate’s residents to a normal life.
