President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the dispatch of urgent relief aid.
As well as search and rescue teams to Libya, to stand by its side in confronting the effects of the devastating floods.

The heavy rains that fell in Libya from September 8 to 10, 2023 caused huge floods.
Mentioning that the rains were the heaviest in decades, and caused rivers to overflow and dams to burst.
Moreover, Up to 3,000 people have died and 10,000 are missing in the massive floods that have overwhelmed parts of eastern Libya.
Libya’s Red Crescent spokesman Taqfiq Shukri said on Tuesday that there are 2,084 people confirmed dead.
While IFRC head Tamer Ramadan said: “The number of missing people is hitting 10,000 so far”.
The Libyan government has declared a state of emergency in the affected areas.
While the most affected areas are the western and southern regions of Libya.
Including the cities of Tripoli, Misrata, and Benghazi.
In fact, the floods are a major humanitarian crisis in Libya.
Also, the government is struggling to cope with the scale of the disaster.
As usual, the UAE was among the first countries to support the disaster victims.
In a statement, the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the humanitarian aid sent to Libya includes food, water, medicine, and shelter.
The ministry also expressed its condolences to the people of Libya for the victims of the floods.
In fact, the UAE’s assistance embodied solidarity with the people of Libya.
Since the two countries have close ties, and the UAE has been a major supporter of Libya’s political transition.
The UAE’s support is also a reminder of the importance of international cooperation in the face of natural disasters.
To be honest, the floods in Libya are a tragedy.
But the UAE’s response shows that the international community is united in its efforts to help those in need.
