HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Congratulates the UAE and the Islamic World on the Hijri New Year
His Highness, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, congratulated the people of the UAE and all Islamic peoples on the Hijri New Year occasion.
His Highness, the President, prayed to Allah Almighty to make it a good year, blessing and peace in our country, the region and the world at large.

“On the occasion of Hijri New Year, I congratulate the people of the UAE and Muslims around the world.
May God bless us this year as we pray for peace, harmony, and prosperity for all.”
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid: “The prophet’s migration is a symbol of beginning for Muslims”
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, blessed the people of the UAE and the Islamic Nation for the Hijri New Year.

Migration represents a symbol of sacrifice, hope, and effort.
May God grant us all success in this new Hijri year to work for the benefit of the country and its people.”
Why does the Islamic calendar start with the Prophet’s migration (Hijra) ?
The migration was a significant event in the history of the Islamic nation.
It deserve to be marked as the beginning of the Islamic calendar.
Moreover, it carried noble and elevated meanings because it was a clear indication of the believers’ commitment to their faith.
Those who migrated to Medina left their homeland, families, houses, and wealth.
They were seeking nothing but to live as Muslims for the sake of Allah.
