His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, has arrived in the capital, Addis Ababa, on an official visit.
His Excellency Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, was among the first to welcome His Highness upon his arrival at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa.
A formal reception ceremony was held for His Highness, during which the national anthems of the UAE and Ethiopia were played.
Moreover, artillery was fired, and a line of honor was formed by the honor guard to welcome the visit.
His Highness’s plane was accompanied by fighter jets as it entered Ethiopian airspace to celebrate his visit and welcome him.
His Highness’s convoy was also accompanied by a number of horsemen.
In addition, a group of children chanted welcome phrases while waving the flags of the two countries.

The UAE-Ethiopian relations began during the reign of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan “may God rest his soul”.

Followed by the opening of the UAE embassy in Addis Ababa in July 2010.
