The UAE Achievements in 2023 Exceeds the Expectations …
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) achieved a number of significant milestones in 2023, across a variety of fields and on both local and international levels.
These achievements further cemented the UAE’s position as a leading nation in a number of areas.
The UAE Achievements in 2023: Sustainability
- COP28 concluded with the historic Agreement of the UAE on climate change, endorsed by representatives of 197 countries and the European Union.
- The UAE launched the Alterra Climate Investment Fund with a value of $30 billion.
Which aims to raise and mobilize an additional $250 billion to support global climate action. - The UAE inaugurated the Al Dhafra Solar Photovoltaic Power Station with a production capacity of 2 gigawatts.
- The UAE inaugurated the fifth phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park.
- The UAE launched the UAE Climate Neutrality Strategy 2050.
Humanitarian efforts
Operation Chivalrous Knight 2 to alleviate the suffering of friends and brothers in Turkey and Syria in the aftermath of the earthquake of February 6.
And also Bridges of Charity campaign was launched to extend a helping hand to the victims of the earthquake in Syria and Turkey.
Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 to support the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, by the establishment of a comprehensive field hospital in the Strip.
As well as three seawater desalination stations in Rafah.
Hosting 1,000 Palestinian cancer patients from Gaza Strip to receive treatment in the state’s hospitals.
In addition to 1,000 Palestinian children with their families from Gaza Strip.
And also Compassion for Gaza campaign was launched.
Moreover, the UAE contributed $20 million to the UNRWA.
The UAE also provided assistance to those affected by Hurricane Daniel in Libya.
As well as humanitarian and relief assistance to those affected by the earthquake that struck Morocco.

Space
- Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi successfully completed the longest space mission in Arab history, Al Zawa’id 2, which lasted 6 months.
- Launching Phase 1 of the project to develop the radar satellites “Sarb”.
- The journey of the UAE Mars Exploration Project “Hope Probe” was extended for one more year.
- Rashid 2 mission to explore the moon was announced.
- The scientific details of the UAE Asteroid Exploration Project were announced.

Parliamentary Experience
- The fifth session of the Federal National Council elections was held.
- The number of members of electoral bodies increased by 18.1% compared to the lists of electoral bodies for the year 2019.
- Emirati women achieved a distinguished presence in the lists, with a rate of 51% compared to 49% for men.
- Young people played an active role, with a participation rate of 55% of the total number of electoral bodies.
The UAE Achievements in 2023: Global Competitiveness
- The UAE ranked 10th in the World Competitiveness Yearbook 2023.
- The UAE ranked first in the world in the indicators of global trade, adaptability of government policies, city management.
As well as air transport quality, and internet users and energy infrastructure. - The UAE ranked fourth in the world in the economic performance axis and also eighth in the world in the government efficiency axis.

Culture
- 24.8 million students from 46 countries participated in the Arabic Reading Challenge for 2023.
- Significant archaeological discoveries dating back to the Iron Age were made in the city of Al Ain.
Also a new evidence of the existence of the oldest pearl-fishing city in the Arabian Gulf was found in Siniya Island in Umm Al Quwain. - The popular dish “Harees” became the 15th element included on the UNESCO lists on behalf of the United Arab Emirates.
- The Shindagha Museum in Dubai was opened after the completion of its development operations.
