The official show of 52nd Union Day highlighted the journey of sustainability in the UAE.
As well as its vision for a shared prosperous future with the world in adapting to climate change.
In addition to overcoming challenges through innovation, cooperation, and teamwork.
Under the auspices of inspiring climate action supporters from the UAE and around the world.
The official show of 52nd Union Day was held in the presence of UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed attended the show at Dubai Expo City.
And he was accompanied by Their Highnesses the members of the Supreme Council of the Union.
As well as the Rulers of the Emirates, His Highnesses the Crown Princes.
In addition to a number of guests of the Conference of the Parties on Climate Change “COP28”.
The show lasted for 30 minutes and it was accompanied by a live orchestra.
Which featured innovative technologies and stunning performances on a moving stage.
It was also portraying the rich heritage of the UAE and the threads of the Union and sustainability throughout history.
A show inspired by the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan have adhered to the values of sustainable development and empowering the world.
The show praised the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
In addition it highlighted the story of the UAE, from the past through the present to the future, embodying the unity of its people and its resilience.
The show included five scenes, namely:
- The Union of Hope
- The Beauty of Nature
- Facing Climate Change Together
- Working and Innovating
- Towards Global Unity
In recognition of inspiring Emirati youth, the scenes highlighted local and global climate action supporters.
Who are innovating solutions to global climate challenges.
Including Emirati climate action supporters Mehta Al Mansoori, Maryam Hassani, Saeed Hassan, and Amal Al Qubaisi.
And they work respectively in the fields of botany, renewable energy, agriculture, and environmental conservation.
Zayed Sustainability Prize Winners participated in the official show of the 52 UAE National Day.
Global climate action supporters and representatives of organizations awarded the Zayed Sustainability Prize also participated in the show.
Including Harsh Handi, Neha Pant, and Mohan Kumar Mondal.
The show ended with props that were specially and precisely designed to simulate the light effects of fireworks.
With the designs focusing on sustainability and the theme of the show.
It is worth noting that the weaving of the Al Sadu and its various elements that the show highlighted, was woven by hand by Emirati Al Sadu craftsmen from “The House of Craftsmen”.
Al Sadu is a vital craft for Emirati women, who have practiced it in weaving tents and household utensils.
And also contributed to supporting the family income through it.
Preparations for the show in Dubai Expo City began in April 2023 with the participation of more than 7,000 people from all over the world.
The orchestra consisted of 90 members of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and local musicians.
Sadiq Brabah worked on designing the shows, which were built on the basis of three terms that represent the values of the show, namely “innovation”, “together”, and “cooperation”.
Citizens and residents of the UAE can attend the public shows at Dubai Expo City in the period from December 5 to 12, 2023.
