The new framework aims to develop the climate literacy of one million teachers around the world by 2025.
Minister of Education in the UAE pointed to the vital role of teachers in shaping the minds and behaviors of the rising generations.
In his opening speech at “Legacy Event – COP28 Conference”, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Education highlighted the teachers role in inspiring generations.
As they are helping them to take academic and professional paths.
That contribute to the collective effort to address the challenges of climate change.
Moreover, he stressed the need to pool efforts and share knowledge and expertise to contribute to the training of teachers and educational leaders in a climate-friendly manner.
In addition to enabling them to communicate more effectively with students and achieve the goals of climate education.
He said:
“We believe that knowledge is borderless and that effective international cooperation is the way to find effective solutions to the challenges facing our world.
Therefore, we worked with our partners at UNICEF to develop a model for building the capacity of UAE teachers.
In order to be practical and flexible so that different countries can adopt it and adapt it according to their national educational strategies.
This approach has resulted in the commitment of a number of countries to adopt this model to contribute to building the capacity of their educational cadres at all educational levels.”
