The UAE has ranked first regionally and fifth globally in the top 10 countries worldwide in terms of air connectivity.
This is based on the scheduled seat capacity on international outbound flights during the first half of this year.
This ranking is according to data released by Mabrian, a tourism information company.
Moreover, the total scheduled seat capacity on outbound flights from UAE airports reached 41.8 million seats.
With a growth of 12.24% compared to the first half of 2023.
Dubai and Abu Dhabi Are Global Aviation Hubs
The data showed that Emirates Airlines and Etihad Airways played a significant role in the growth of seat capacity.
Which is also strengthening Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s positions as global aviation hubs.
According to the data, the UAE surpassed France, Italy, China, Turkey, and Japan in the global ranking.
While it came after the United States, which topped the list with a scheduled seat capacity of about 83.5 million seats.
The United Kingdom followed with 72.8 million seats, Germany with 53.7 million seats, and Spain with 53.4 million scheduled seats, respectively.

This is through the expansion of airport infrastructure and the development of new routes.
