Arab Parliament Praises the UAE’s Efforts to Support Its Arab Brothers, Especially in Palestine
The Arab Parliament praised the UAE efforts in Arab, regional, and international forums to support its Arab brothers, especially in Palestine.
The UAE has taken the lead in providing relief and medical assistance to Gaza Strip.
Mentioning its diplomatic efforts to stop the humanitarian catastrophe in the sector.
This was during its non-permanent membership in the Security Council, which adopted Resolution 2720.
As well as its contribution to adopting a resolution by a majority of 143 votes in the General Assembly.
The resolution was calling for Palestine’s full membership, granting it the privileges it deserves in international and regional meetings.
The Palestinian Cause Will Remain the Compass of Arabs, Muslims and Christians
The Arab Parliament affirmed that the Palestinian cause will remain the compass of Arabs, Muslims and Christians, no matter how Israeli racist attacks and desperate attempts to uproot the Palestinian people intensify.
The UAE parliamentary group proposed that Palestine Committee and the Presidency of the Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union develop a plan of action to achieve a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and also to confront the humanitarian catastrophe.
The UAE parliamentary group also proposed the working to support Palestine’s right of full membership in the UN General Assembly.
In addition to the resolving of the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution.
UAE Leads Global Aid Efforts
The UAE has taken the lead among world countries with 27% of the total global relief and medical assistance to our people in Gaza.
The UAE has also taken the initiative to launch the sea corridor from Cyprus to the northern Gaza areas.
It also operated an air bridge that is still continuing to deliver relief and medical assistance.
Mentioning that total humanitarian aid reached more than 260 air flights, 1243 trucks, and 6 ships that transported about 32,000 tons of urgent humanitarian supplies.
UAE’s Firm Principles in Supporting Palestine
The UAE, guided by its unwavering principles and commitment, has extended its support to Palestine through various channels:
- Land: Operation “Chivalrous Knight 3” delivered aid overland.

Air: “Birds of Goodness” airlifted assistance.

Medical: The UAE field hospital and desalination stations provided medical care and clean water.

Patient Transfer: Critical cases were transported to UAE hospitals for treatment.

Child Treatment: Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, 1,000 children from Gaza received treatment in UAE hospitals until their recovery and return home.

Cancer Care: 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza across all age groups were hosted for treatment in the UAE.

The historic resolution passed by the UN General Assembly on May 10, 2024, granting Palestine full membership, stands as a testament to the UAE’s and the Arab world’s collective efforts in mobilizing international support for the Palestinian cause.
The UAE Parliamentary Group stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation, coordination, and solidarity.
As well as empowering the Palestinian people and Arab nations in order to overcome unprecedented regional challenges and crises.
In its closing statement, the Arab Parliament praised the UAE’s exceptional efforts in issues of global concern.
Most notably the UAE’s hosting of COP28 and its contribution to strengthening international action to address climate change challenges.
