Jamal Al Musharakh Leads the Arab Delegation to The UN
An Arab diplomatic delegation arrived to Geneva to discuss the developments in Lebanon.
His Excellency Jamal Al Musharakh, Permanent Representative of the UAE to the UN Office and other international organizations in Geneva is leading the delegation.
Al Musharakh met with senior officials from the UN and international organizations concerned with humanitarian, relief, and health affairs.
They discussed the recent developments in Lebanon.
In addition, they explored ways to address the consequences of the escalating military situation.
Emphasizing the urgent need to activate humanitarian response plans.
Focus on Urgent Respond to the Emerging Crisis in Lebanon
In his capacity as the head of the Arab delegation, H.E Al Musharakh, along with the ambassadors of the Troika and Arab ambassadors in Geneva, met with Filippo Grandi, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.
The talks focused on the urgent need to respond to the emerging crisis and its repercussions.
Such as internal civilian displacement and the increased flow of refugees.
The Arab delegation also met with Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization.
Where they stressed the importance of quickly addressing the needs of the Lebanese people.
Besides intensifying humanitarian assistance and medical supplies.
Protecting Civilians
Additionally, Al Musharakh and the Arab ambassadors held discussions with Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
During the meeting, they emphasized the need for an active role by international organizations.
Especially the ICRC, during this critical time.
They also stressed the importance of measures that uphold international law and international humanitarian law, ensuring the protection of civilians.
