Edvin Rama, The Albanian Prime Minister, thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, for the continuous support provided by the United Arab Emirates to his country.
The Albanian Prime Minister said, in a video, that the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, had previously sent generous aid 20 years ago to refugees crossing the border between Albania and Kosovo to escape the war of ethnic cleansing they were facing at the time.
The Albanian Prime Minister added that the United Arab Emirates has sent, without any request from Albania, medical aid planes recently to support his country in curbing the spread of the Coronavirus, expressing his deep thanks to the United Arab Emirates and its wishes for its people of prosperity and progress.

On May 15th, the UAE sent an aid plane containing 7 tons of medical supplies to Albania to support it in limiting the spread of the new Coronavirus, which will benefit more than 7,000 health care workers to enhance their efforts to contain the spread of the virus.

Mohamed Mir Al Raisi, the country’s ambassador to the Greek Republic and the non-resident ambassador to the Republic of Albania said that the United Arab Emirates and Albania have a history of cooperation in the field of humanitarian initiatives.
He explained: By providing assistance to Albania today; the United Arab Emirates affirms its steadfast stance in lending a helping hand to countries fighting the pandemic (Covid-19). UAE is protecting the frontline workers in the health care field and strengthening the global fight against the virus are among the priorities of the United Arab Emirates. Mohamed bin Zayed discusses cooperation relations with Albanian Prime Minister
February 10, 2020, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, received Edvin Rama, the Albanian Prime Minister, who visited the United Arab Emirates to attend the “10th International Urban Forum” that Abu Dhabi is currently hosting.
During his meeting at the Beach Palace in Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan welcomed the Albanian Prime Minister in the United Arab Emirates and stressed the importance of the UAE-Albanian relations, and the United Arab Emirate’s keenness to strengthen and develop it at all levels.
The meeting dealt with bilateral relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Albania in various fields and ways to support and develop them in the interest of the two friendly countries and peoples, in addition to the situations in the Middle East and Balkan regions, and regional and international issues of common concern.
For his part, Edvin Rama, the Albanian Prime Minister, expressed his happiness with visiting the United Arab Emirates, expressing his thanks and appreciation for the support provided to his country in the field of development, and stressed that Albania has a great keenness to strengthen and develop relations with the United Arab Emirates in various fields.
The meeting was attended by Mohammed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Diwan of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Mohamed Mir Abdullah Youssef Al Raisi, the country’s ambassador to the Greek Republic, the non-resident ambassador to Albania.
