The 4th International Translation Conference: “Towards New Horizons: Translation and Building Knowledge Societies”
The 4th International Translation Conference will be held tomorrow, April 17, 2024, in Abu Dhabi.
Under the slogan “Towards New Horizons: Translation and Building Knowledge Societies.” Organized by the National Archives and Library.
The conference aims to shed light on new frontiers in translation and its role in building knowledge societies.
And also on fostering communication between cultures and civilizations.
Day One Events:
- Opening Session:
- Welcome address by His Excellency Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Director General of the National Archives and Library.
- Keynote address by Dr. Khalifa Al Dhaheri, Director of Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Humanities.
- Opening speech of the conference by Dr. Radwan Al Sayed, Dean of the Graduate College at Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Humanities, titled “Translation: Between Professionalism and Necessity.”
- Four Discussion Sessions:
- Session 1: “The Role of Translation in Enhancing Communication between Cultures.”
- Session 2: “Challenges of Translation in the Digital Age.”
- Session 3: “The Ethics of Translation.”
- Session 4: “The Future of Translation: Trends and Developments.”
Conference Objectives:
- Highlight the importance of translation in building knowledge societies.
- Discuss the challenges and opportunities facing translation in the digital age.
- Explore best practices in the field of professional translation.
- Enhance communication among translators, researchers, and academics.
- Contribute to the development of the translation profession.
Broad Participation:
The conference is expected to gather over 300 translators, researchers, and academics from around the world.
Adding that more than 35 research papers will be presented, discussing various aspects of translation.
