Dubai is hosting the “Arab Classic Tournament,” the first baseball tournament in the Middle East.
The tournament begins today and continues until next Sunday.
This event is organized by “Baseball United” in collaboration with Dubai Sports Council, Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, and the Emirates Cricket Board.
“Arab Classic Tournament” takes place at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai.
Dubai Welcomes Players of the 1st Baseball Tournament in the Middle East
Teams from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal, Palestine, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are participating.
The tournament details announced at a press conference held at Dubai Sports Council headquarters.
This conference was featuring Ali Omar Al Balushi, Director of Sports Events Department at Dubai Sports Council.
As well as Yaqoub Mohammed, Senior Manager of the Dubai Fitness Challenge; and Kash Shaikh, Chairman, CEO, and co-founder of the tournament.
the international baseball stars were also in the conference, including the legendary Mariano Rivera, a five-time world champion and renowned pitcher with the New York Yankees.
The First Match for UAE Baseball Team
The UAE’s national baseball team, recently established with support from Baseball United and the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB).
It represents a historical step in growing baseball within the region.
The UAE team will compete for the first time in the Arab Classic tournament, scheduled from, November 7-10, 2024, in Dubai.

The UAE baseball team will play its first match at 1:00 p.m. today against India.
Mentioning that the tournament matches begin at 8:00 a.m., with Afghanistan facing India.
Followed by Bangladesh against Pakistan at 10:30 a.m. Saudi Arabia will play Sri Lanka at 3:30 p.m.
A unique stadium for the tournament, the first of its kind in the Middle East, has been built at The Sevens.
This venue will also host the “Baseball United Cup” from February 22 to March 1, 2025.
