A team of UAE students has qualified for the global finals of the “Tech4Good” awards, hosted by China.
They secured the second place in the regional finals of the fourth annual Tech4Good competition, held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The winning team, called “Beyond Limits,” stood out for their innovative use of advanced technologies to assist stroke patients with limited hand mobility.
Regional finals were part of “Seeds for the Future 2024” program, supported by Huawei and organized by the Uzbekistan Ministry of Digital Technology.
Victorious teams from the regional competition will now compete against other qualified teams from around the world in the global Tech4Good finals, hosted in China.
15 students from the UAE Participated in Tech4Good
Fifteen team members represented universities in the UAE, including:
- University of the Emirates
- The American University in Dubai
- Zayed University
- As well as other universities.
The closing ceremony of the regional finals was attended by dignitaries, including:
Karimjonov Rustam, Deputy Minister of Digital Technology in Uzbekistan, and Shunli Wang, Deputy President of Huawei for the Middle East and Central Asia.
Along with student representatives from participating countries.
In this year’s program, 150 students from leading universities across 14 countries in the Middle East and Central Asia participated.
Including the UAE, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Iraq, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

The top-performing teams receive prestigious awards:
First Place (Gold Level): A prize value of $20,000, one-on-one consultation with a Huawei executive, mentorship, and more.
Second Place (Silver Level): A prize value of $15,000, career development coaching, mentorship, and recognition.
Third Place (Bronze Level): Recognition and valuable experiences.
