The UAE Showcases Emirati Heritage Diversity in Tan-Tan Cultural Festival – Morocco
The United Arab Emirates is participating in a diverse array of events, activities, and heritage competitions during Tan-Tan Cultural Festival – Morocco.
The festival starts on 26 – June and runs until June 30.
Mentioning that it is held under the patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco.
Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority is showcasing various events that highlight Emirati heritage.
It is also showcasing the efforts made by the wise leadership to preserve and sustain it.
About the Emirati Pavilion
The UAE pavilion features artistic displays representing various Emirati folk arts, including Al-Razfa, Al-Azi, Al-Ayala, and Al-Harbiya.
As well as maritime, mountain, and desert arts.
Performances such as Al-Taghrooda and Al-Hadaa are also part of the show.
Visitors can explore traditional crafts, Emirati cuisine, Moroccan cooking competitions, and the popular Moroccan mint tea (Atay).
The pavilion also hosts a photo exhibition reflecting the strong historical relations between the two sisterly countries.
This is in collaboration with the National Archives and Library.
Handcrafted traditional items are on display in partnership with the General Women’s Union.
Additionally, visitors can learn about the UAE’s non-material heritage elements.
Arts and More
The UAE pavilion participates in poetry evenings featuring poets from both the UAE and Morocco.
It also contributes to musical concerts and other diverse cultural and heritage events hosted by Tan-Tan Cultural Festival.
Cooking competitions, Moroccan tea preparation, and heritage trivia for the public are also part of the program.
On the first day of Tan-Tan Cultural Festival, the UAE pavilion witnessed the launch of the camel racing competition.
With 150 camel owners from Morocco competing in four rounds.
