The UAE on Thursday condemned Sudan lawsuit filed before the International Court of Justice (ICJ) over alleged “complicity in genocide,” calling it a “malicious propaganda stunt” and vowing to seek its dismissal.
Sudan Lawsuit before ICJ is Denied by the UAE
An Emirati official stated that the lawsuit is “nothing more than a malicious propaganda stunt aimed at diverting attention.”
He added: “The United Arab Emirates will seek to have this baseless request dismissed immediately.”
Sudan filed a lawsuit against the UAE at the International Court of Justice.
Through which it is accusing the UAE of “complicity in genocide” due to its alleged support for Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

International Court of Justice Statement
Commenting on Sudan lawsuit, the ICJ stated the following:
“Khartoum considers the UAE complicit in genocide against the Masalit group in Sudan.
This was by directing and providing extensive financial, political, and military support to the rebel Rapid Support Forces militia.”
Since April 2023, Sudan has been engulfed in a brutal war between the Sudanese army and the RSF.
This war resulted in at least 20,000 deaths and the displacement of more than 14 million people.

Since then, relations between Sudan and Abu Dhabi have been strained.
With Khartoum accusing the UAE of playing a role in fueling the conflict.
While the UAE has called for a peaceful resolution and supported humanitarian relief efforts.
